What If We Have More Than We Think?
As costs continue to rise, many of us have adapted by going without or simply accepting that we have to live with less. But the lesson of Stone Soup reminds us that when everyone contributes a little of what they already have, together we can create more. That’s the idea behind the Haven for Healing Exchange Network—sharing our skills, knowledge, services, and resources to create greater access for one another. Maybe we don’t always need more. Maybe we need a better way to share what we already have.

I know I’m not the only one noticing how inflation keeps creeping up. Groceries cost more. Services cost more. Everyday expenses cost more. And if I’m feeling that financial pinch, I know others must be feeling it too.
Over time, we’ve adapted. We go without. We put things off. We learn to live with less and accept limitations because there’s only so much money to go around. But maybe we have more available to us than we realize.
There’s an old story called Stone Soup. A community believes there isn’t enough food to share. But one by one, people contribute what they have - a potato, a carrot, an onion and all together they create enough for everyone. That’s the idea behind the Haven for Healing Exchange Network.
One person may have a skill. Another has knowledge. Someone else has a resource, extra time, or something they simply enjoy doing. Individually, it may not seem like much. But when we all contribute a little, suddenly we have access to a lot more.
Maybe the answer isn’t always learning to live with less. Maybe it’s learning to share more of what we already have.
Together, we have access to more.
