We're Building a Sustainable Credit Economy

The Network Credit Pool (NCP) is a shared resource that helps strengthen, sustain, and grow the Haven for Healing Exchange Network. Rather than paying the $4 Shared Contribution after each completed exchange, members may choose to contribute 2 Service Credits (Businesses: 5 Service Credits in place of the weekly business $25 Shared Contribution) to the Network Credit Pool.

This allows members to support the infrastructure of the Exchange Network using the same credit-based economy they are already participating in.

Why the Network Credit Pool Exists

Unlike traditional financial systems that can create new money without corresponding goods or services, every credit contributed to the Network Credit Pool represents real value that has already been earned through someone providing a service, sharing knowledge, donating goods, or contributing to another member.

Because every credit originated from an actual exchange, the Network Credit Pool helps preserve the integrity and value of the Service Credit economy.

How Network Credits Are Used

Credits contributed to the Network Credit Pool may be used to:

• Support Community Network Coordinators (CNCs) who help organize, oversee exchanges, educate, verify members, resolve issues, and strengthen local communities.

• Support outreach, recruitment, education, and community-building initiatives.

• Reward volunteers who contribute to approved operational projects.

• Support testing, pilot programs, and future Exchange Network expansion.

• Recirculate credits back into the community through approved operational activities rather than allowing credits to sit unused.

Why This Matters

A healthy exchange economy depends on circulation.

Just as goods, services, and relationships continue moving through a community, Service Credits should also continue moving. The Network Credit Pool helps ensure that credits remain active and productive instead of becoming stagnant.

Every contribution strengthens the entire network by helping maintain the systems that allow members to safely connect, exchange, and build stronger communities together and access more services and goods.

Preserving the Value of Service Credits

One of the guiding principles of Haven for Healing Exchange Network is that Service Credits represent real human contribution.

Credits are not intended to be created arbitrarily for routine operations. Instead, operational credits are ideally funded through contributions made by members who have already earned those credits through meaningful participation in the network.

This creates a more transparent, accountable, and sustainable system where value is continually backed by real acts of service rather than unlimited credit creation.
